New tunnel completed in 2013, the longest road tunnel in the Philippines
---
This 300-meter tunnel is part of the new 6-kilometer Tourism Road in Cavite that cuts travel time from Manila to Nasugbu and Calatagan, Batangas from the usual 4 hours via Tagaytay to just a little over 1 hour.
The tourism road project was conceptualized in 1994 during the Fidel Ramos administration but had so much delays due to issues like rights of way. Almost 10 years later, it was completed on July 2013.
The artery consists of a new four-kilometer paved road, a 1.4-km concrete road, four new bridges, and the 300-meter Kaybiang Tunnel.
The road offers a very scenic view right after you pass through the tunnel.
