Aliguay Island is part of Dapitan City, it is one of its barangays, it is about 1 to 2 hours boat ride, depending on the weather. The island is under the custody of the Philippine Navy, declaring it as a marine sanctuary. The water surrounding it has lush coral beds and excellent white sand beaches, excellent for snorkelling. There are no water source in the island, drinking water is still fetched in the mainland. There are few residence in the island, which peddles their catch to visitors or to the mainland.
To get there, one must fly to Dipolog and take a land trip to Dapitan. Boats going to Aliguay are usually moored at the fishport besides Bagting Bridge.
